I installed the Crimson driver but still can't detect TV with HDMI =(

AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series 15.301.1901.0

Intel HD Graphics 8.15.10.2900

What else can I do?

Connect your laptop to the monitor using HDMI cable; Windows+P button and select duplicate video on the left, the second choice, if I remeber.

In this case my side it's working fine

Thanks but tried that already but still not detected.

In my case it works only after an installation from zero of widonws 10. At the beginning i made an update, no HDMI working. After that my hard disk crash, I buy another one and installed Win10.

After that HDMI start working, i don't know why only in the second case.

Thank you HP for not supporting your hardware (it was only 2+ years old before upgrading to win 10). It was pure aggrevation migrating from WIN 10 (your suggestion not mine) and then after finding out my HDMI  wasn't going to be supported with a Driver update) attempting to go back to the original WIN 8.0 Pro.

All in all ~ over 5 months of wasted time and energy, waiting for some type of indications and direction. Because of this strategy, I am now the proud owner of 3 Dell Latops and 1 Acer Server.  If you decide to sacrifice support for Hardware sales the next Operating system go-around.... I won't be joining you for the ride.

No worries, I still have ink to use up on my HP Printers. Good thing those drivers survived.

i had the same problem aftrer upgrading to windows 10 - finally by updating my driver from device manager .- display adapters. - then choosing automatically look for drivers - then it automatically sets update and install - inter(R)hd graphics 4600... ..

That works if the drivers exists... but no one is developing new drivers for most of the machines mentioned in this posts where, these issues have not been resolved.  "How to install compatible drivers" is not what this forum topic is about. It's more about... "when are we getting updated drivers?"   It's not in their business model to do that.

Most of the recommendations made here (by individuals that have had success) ...are not an option for those that do not have compatible drivers, and are still waiting for someone to develop them for Win 10. Most of these posts are dealing with an inability by either HP or AMD to provide compatible drivers ( back in September)  ...stay posted and see what happens?  (LOL).  :generic:

I gave up months ago. NEVER EVER HP AGAIN. Not me, not anyone I can advise about how bad the support is, even for notebooks not older than 3 or 4 years.

I've got a new machine, NOT HP.

Have a 17" laptop dv7-4183cl purchased 2011 with AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 display adapter.  After many tries, was able to uninstall the AMD software (not just the driver is key I found) and installed the Beta Crimson AMD software...my extended display works.  Whew!
