I found one thing that increased my volume. If you right click on the sound icon, you can go to spacial sound and set it for Windows Sonic for headphones. Then check the virtual surround 7.1 box. It increase my volume a good  bit.

Thanks for that. I didn't have the "Enhancement" option on my EliteBook 840 G2, either. This suggestion was helpful!
