Hi

You have a couple of options as I see it i would like to know if you have replaced the Hard drive on the unit first as it had failed.

Then go to Bios then go to system configuration and then disable Virtualization technology then try using Recovery disc.

If this does not work please call HP Technical support and order for the set of Recovery disc.

Let us know how it goes!

Hi, I have a notebook HP Envy Spectre 14-3090la. I try to replace the 128GB solid state drive because the original drive is dead. After install the new drive, I try to install the OS from the original HP USB recovery media, but an error message appears "the intel Smart Response Tecnology is not enabled". When I try to verify the new drive from the BIOS, it was no recognized Please help ¡¡

Is this a new hard drive or are you recovering to the one that says it failed? Never mind-posted this before I say your new information...I might suggest downloading the OEM .iso image for your version of Windows 7 and do a clean install rather than using the recovery disks.

HI,

It's a new hard drive and I have the USB recovery sent by HP. My question is: Why I can't see the new hard drive on BIOS?

That is a problem. That is usually either the way it is attached to the computer or a bad drive. It can happen that you get a dead one new. Not sure how often it happens with SSDs, however. It is an mSSd that is small like a wireless card? Looks like this in there?

Check the cable real well that runs from the ssd to the motherboard starting in the channel to the left of where the ssd plugs in and snaking up and around to the right.

Yes, this is the drive and I have the problem with TWO new mSSD drives. It comes with a cable to connec to the system.

I boot the system with a Ubuntu live USB and I can see the mSSD drive.

I think, I have to reset the Intel Smart Techonology before to install the OS, but I don't have the tool.

So the mSSD drives (both) are not visible in BIOS, but are seen with Ubuntu Live? Exactly what error message do you get when trying to run the recovery from the usb stick? Have you tried going into the UEFI diagnostics (F2) as you power up to check settings there?

Hi,

Yes, they are no visible in BIOS, here's the pic

The images are too small to read very well. I am going to try to escalate this. Look for a PM in your inbox
