hi.

i need to change my notebook fan (incredibly noisy).

my notebook is a dv3-2350el

product number: VY338EA#ABZ

Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU       M 330  @ 2.13GHz

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4300/4500 Series

Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator HD

here is the Maintenance and Service Guide

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01998025.pdf

but i really don't know which is the fan model i have to chose:

For use only with dv3-2300 computer models:
■ For use only with computer models equipped with discrete graphics memory subsystems 591431-001
■ For use only with computer models equipped with UMA graphics memory subsystems 591430-001

how can i understand if my notebook has a discrete or UMA graphics memory subsytem?

thanks 🙂

According to this you have discrete graphics:

Go into the Device Manager and check the display adapter to see if yours says ATI Radeon HD 4550; if so, it is confirmed you have discrete.

thanks for the very fast answer.

it says that it is a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4300/4500 Series, so i think that this confirm what you said, don't it? 🙂

I have the same problem. Do I have a discrete or UMA graphics memory subsystem?

HP G60-235DX

Display Adapter Mobile Intel (R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family

Manual says use fan 489126-001 for UMA or 489154-001 for discrete.

you have to take a look to the table in the pdf manual... it's difficult to explain without having that, but there is a section in the beginning where it gives some more info in a table. at least that's what i can say for my notebook.

I found it. To those who are in need of finding a part, I suggest them to go though the "HP Parts Store" section and found whatever they are looing for by themselves. Cheers
