Hi,
The latest bios is available here. You can run the bios update while running Windows 7.
- Be sure that you back up your data and that you have a set of the HP Recovery Disks.
- Be sure that you are the system administrator and are signed in with admin. privileges.
- Download the update to your desktop.
- Be sure that the battery is fully charged and the PC is plugged into the electrical outlet.
- Disconnect the laptop from the internet.
- Stop all applications including any background tasks such as virus scans and hard drive compression before you execute the bios update.
- Execute the update.

hey guys
I am trying to update my bios on my dv6-3143us laptop so i can use ubuntu
i already cleaned windows off the machine and have ubuntu
i am finding issues related to my switchable graphics card - i need an up-to-date bios however the install to update the bios is only supported with windows
any idea how i would burn this image from a windows machine onto a cd and load in ubuntu appropriately?
