I recently bought a computer from an individual and the computer was working fine except when the computer comes up it says product information not valid -- the following product information programmed into the system board is missing or invalid. Product - name, serial number, number, family and system board CT number - please visit: www:hp.com/go/techcenter/startup.

So I upgraded from Win 7 home to Win 7 ultimate and now I am missing wifi drivers to connect to the internet.  The Ethernet drivers do not seem to be working either. I tried system recovery but that could not find Bios info. Also I do not have backup disc.

I got a disc Driver Pack Solutions but am unable to get it to open, it is a torrent file, how can I open it, to see if it will work or is there anyway I can get a cd/dvd that has these drivers so I can reload on the computer, once I can connect to the internet I'm sure I will figure out the rest.

Hi,

HP 2000 is a series of many models, and your product is invalid therefore finding the right model could be a problem. Anyway, please try Windows 7 upfates first. If not succesful please check the Hardware Id then post back. The following link shows you how to get the hardware id:

Windows 7 repair did not work.  In the device manager the only drivers that are not working are these.  I cannot get on the internet with the computer so I will need a dvd or cd to install the drivers.

The Ethernet Controller hardware id's are:

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_3676103C&REV_05

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_3676103C

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&CC_020000

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&CC_0200

The Network Controller hardware id's are:

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8176&SUBSYS_1629103C&REV_01

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8176&SUBSYS_1629103C

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8176&CC_028000

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8176&CC_0280

The PCI Device hardware id's are:

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&SUBSYS_3676103C&REV_01

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&SUBSYS_3676103C

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&CC_FF000

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&CC_FF00

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

You need to contact HP to fix this because we (you and us) don't know the source of your machine (the old owner may know). There is an HPOffice near you:

In the US:
