Product: hp envy 15-k228tx
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
I am currently using Hp Envy 15-k228tx which has 8gb ram which i want to upgrade.
Does this laptop have a second slot, If yes:
Will i be able to upgrade it to 16gb ?

Yes, your laptop came with 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3L SDRAM (1 x 8 GB) in one available slot.
Two slots present, up to 16gb max supported. Refer Page 2 in the Manual.
Put 8gb of exactly same configuration and preferably same brand as the other one, to upgrade to 16gb
Crucial and certain other good brands have their own online scanner and they guarantee the listed compatible upgrades:
http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/systemscanner
Run this tool to get details of currently installed stick:
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
