Already made the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool USb, but I looked in my X2 Envy X2 bios and it DOES NOT have the Legacy option, if it does might be named something else or hidden somewhere, but I can't find it.
If it is there where would it be located, any one with an Envy x2 please help people witout it, are no help at all.
Thanks.

Hello guys,
Even if my reply come little bit late but i want to precise that there is a big problem with that PC (HP ENVY X2) :
1- There is no option for legacy boot mode in the BIOS only EFI boot.
2. The problem here is the EFI mode is used with a 32bit Windows version (Windows 8 in our case), and as i read on the internet that EFI boot mode is even used in X64 systems, so this is particuliarity used by Microsoft to prevent users from installing another OS.
3. Finnaly, as a solution, the unique way that i've found to boot from external peripheral is to use the EFI boot file "bootia32.efi" in your boot folder. I've found a software that contains this file : KnBoot-v2.4.
Just use it and you'll be satisfied, you've just to try to adapt this software to your needs !
Good Luck !
NB : This software can be used also as password recovery, you've just to check readme !

All,
After many, many hours ... I think I figured out how to get bootable USB support working on an Envy system ... including bootable images of Linux.
My specific system is an HP Envy m6-n010dx that came with Windows 8. The system does not have a CD/DVD drive, so if I need to run something that would normally boot from a CD/DVD ... I have to use a USB key.
Here is what worked for me:
- The BIOS is really not BIOS on this system, it is UEFI ... which is the new standard for most machines these days.
- There were two steps to the process. Step 1 allowed me to boot to a "Windows formatted" USB key (like the Windows 10 install .iso burned to a bootable USB key). Step two allowed me to boot a "Linux formatted" USB key (like Clonezilla).
Step 1: Enable Windows formatted USB keys.
- Boot to BIOS/UEFI (by hitting <ESC> during the boot ... and selecting the option for system setup).
- As described in many of the other posts ... Go to "System Configuration" and disable Secure Boot (mine was already) and enable "Legacy Support". This is key to getting it to work. Enabling Legacy support is in ADDITION to the UEFI options. They BOTH are turned on. The machine checks the UEFI boot options first ... then the legacy boot options.
- This may be optional (not sure) ... but, I also deleted the stored Keys. When I did this I was prompted with a 4 digit PIN ... and asked to key in the PIN to confirm I really wanted to do it.
- Re-arrange the boot order in both the UEFI and Legacy sections to put the "USB Key" option at the top of the list.
IMPORTANT: Remove all USB keys and drives ... and reboot your computer TWICE. It hung for me on the first attempt.
- Put in your windows formatted USB key and reboot. Hit <ESC> multiiple times during POST. When the menu appears, <F9> should allow you to specify boot device ... and your Windows formatted CD Key should be listed.
That's it!
Step 2: Enable Linux formatted USB keys.
- To get this to work, I had to add entries to the "EFI file" and to do this I used a free program called "Easy UEFI" (http://www.easyuefi.com).
- Download and install the program.
- Put your Linux formatted bootable Key in the computer.
- Use the software to create and "EFI file" entry. You have to specify "Linux OS", a name for the entry, click the USB key, and then locate the executable file on they key (normally in the "EFI" subdirectory with an extention of ".efi")
- Now Put in your windows formatted USB key and reboot. Hit <ESC> multiiple times during POST. When the menu appears, <F9> should allow you to specify boot device, Choose EFI file. You should see an entry for the "volume" you just created. Select it ... then navigate to the .EFI file on your USB key (usually in the "EFI" folder") ... AND ... it should boot!
Good luck!
I did get it to work ... I'm sure you can too.

Thank God I figured Out !
Used Rufus To Make Bootable USB this Time and Under Partition Scheme Used UEFi Type (The Second Number Option) plugged into the envy x2 and pressed esacpe while first boot then Opened Boot Options and I was happy to see USB Drive Option now 🙂 My Secured Boot was already disabled...
So this is final solution for all those trying to boot their HP envy X2 with USB

easyuefi is a Windows program, we should have the ability to boot from any booteable usb stick or usb hard drive without this crap. My HP computer came with windows 8, but I only have Linux on the laptop now, and this is a UEFI/BIOS problem because the firmware of the laptop is a crap. 80% of the times, usb sticks are not recognized, even rebooting the machine with the same usb stick plugged in, was recognized 2 times and 15 times was not recognized.
