my battery was working fine this morning, lasted a good 5 hours on full charge... then hp support assistant asked me to update itself and install a whole bunch of drivers for the WLAN and BIOS and all that, so i did. if i remember correctly, the battery at the time the update finished was around 20% and charging... then i unplugged the AC adapter to move it to another spot in my room, then the computer shut off completely... when i plugged it back in and rebooted the battery indicator was stuck at 0% but says (plugged in, CHARGING)....*not "not charging"... so i dont get it...  i've left it alone for an hour and still says 0%... i rebooted and nothing changed.... i did a system restore to bring it back where it was before i did the hp support assistant update....nothing changed...

i honestly don't believe it's a problem with the battery itself because it was working fine until today.... and i didnt yank the adapter out of the socket either...

Any ideas?

bump... still need help.

ran a battery check through hp support assistant... it said the battery cannot be found, even though it actually is installed.

is it a battery problem or is the battery port on the mini messed up?

i had same problem,  before that, i can used my battery for about 3 hours.

it happens when my hp mini reaches LOW BATTERY, and i forgot charging it for 5 days. and on the 6th day

i am about to used my hp mini and i found out that it is not charging the battery when my baby accidentally pull the power supply.

i tried testing the Positive (+) and negative(-) terminal with multimeter the voltage is 0.

i tried using hp battery check, i got status (4) battery is ok... but still 0% (plugged in, charging)

is this really a battery issue, or do i really need to replace my battery... hoping hp customer service support will answer this.. tia

Hello guys,

Hope every thing is going well.

I'm suffering the same problem, my battery was working almost ok from 2 years but eventually i don't know why my notebook is not charging it...

Although, My note book is working 100% via direct A/C current.

Further to the same, Battery is 20% and my notebook is also working fine on battery, but i'm not understanding that it is the fault of board or my A/C adapter or battery or what ver????

Or please someone tell me the |+ and |- terminals and charging terminal of the HP battery i'will fix it my self then!!!

HP should over-come this type of problems in its products.....

Please guide!

Hi Haxroot3,

I understand that you are having an issue with charging the battery. This issue can be caused for several different reasons. I have included a document for the battery does not hold a charge. The document 'Battery Does not Power Notebook or Hold a Charge', will take you through troubleshooting the different possibilities that could cause this issue.

Please let me know if this has resolved your issue, thank you.

Hello,

I have a similar issue with battery charging.

HP Battery check tool was showing for old battery status: Replace (40), Current State: Charging (0%)

original.png

So I have purchased new battery...

Now HP Battery check shows same for the new battery:

Replace (40),Current State: Charging (0%)

original2.png

Computer is HP Mini 110 3010sq

BIOS is updated and computer is working fine with AC adaptor plugged, but shuts dow immediatelly after disconnecting it from AC adaptor.

I have noticed status for "cell voltage 4" is 0 mV for both batteries.

What could be the problem here?

Any support is appreciated.

I came to this explanation:

"Battery test is showing 0 on the fourth cell.

There is nothing wrong with the battery, the test is designed to only test three of the cells on the battery, so one of the test will show 0."

For the moment being I looking to find another machine to test both batteries.

Now why are both batteries not working on my computer? What could be wrong with the computer?

Motherboard ?!?

Many thanks in advance for any support.
