Hi lbjr, and welcome to the HP Forums!  Smiley Happy

I see that you are having a problem uninstalling the HP Support Solutions Framework. I will try my best to help you resolve this issue. To better guide you, could you please tell me the model number of your computer and the operating system that is running on it. Here are some guides for How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number? and Which Windows operating system am I running?.

I want you to be aware of what the HP Software Framework provides. It is a common set of software interfaces that centralize and simplify access to hardware, BIOS, and HP specific drivers that work with the Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. (Notes from Should I Remove It?)

You should be able to uninstall HP Software Framework from your computer by using the Add/Remove Program feature in the Window's Control Panel.

  1. On the Start menu (for Windows 8, right-click the screen's bottom-left corner), click Control Panel, and then, under Programs, do one of the following: Windows Vista/7/8: Click Uninstall a Program. Windows XP: Click Add or Remove Programs.
  2. When you find the program HP Software Framework, click it, and then do one of the following:  Windows Vista/7/8: Click Uninstall.  Windows XP: Click the Remove or Change/Remove tab (to the right of the program).
  3. Follow the prompts. A progress bar shows you how long it will take to remove HP Software Framework.

I hope this helps, please let me know how it goes.

Thank you and have a great day!

I worked on behalf of HP.

I have the opposite problem.. I accidently uninstalled HP SUPPORT SOLUTIONS FRAMEWORK and would like to reinstall it. However, I can get no further than simply downloading the installation file from the HP support website.

When I access the file after downloading (both in chrome and in downloads folder), a window pops up that states "please wait while windows configures HP SUPPORT SOLUTIONS FRAMEWORK" but gets no further than gathering required information, then simply disappears and nothing happens.

I right clicked>repair the download file to no success; however when i right clicked>troubleshoot compatibility, it says the following settings were apllied: "Windows compatibility mode: Skip Version Check" and to start the program; alas, I started the program via the prompt button in the window and the exact same thing happened. I moved on to report the error labeled as "incompatible application" to microsoft.

Any input HP?

Thanks!

That doesn't work for me. I tried twice to uninstall it in Programs and Features, and both times I got an error message with no completion.

The reason I'm attempting to remove it is that it is the only HP program I see on the list, and the solution to my issue on the support site says to remove and reinstall the printer hardware. I assume this is what I need to remove. (I'm getting an installation error 2081883401 when I try to install new HP printer software.

I have a similar problem, but the new version wants to uninstall the previous version.  However hpsupportsolutionsframework-11.51.0027.msi is no longer found on my computer.  Can I get this older .msi somewhere?  If I could get this file, I am fairly certain this would solve my problem.

Help!!  I installed Win 10 and my Officejet J4550 all-in-one no longer worked.  I gave up and went back to Win 7 but now those printer files are correcpted.  I think the main problem is the "HP support solutions Framework".  For some reason I can't uninstall it or re-install it.  Can you help?

thanks,

Ron Gurich

I was eventually able to remove it, but that was some time ago, and I've forgotten what I did. I think I had to talk or chat with someone at HP.

To uninstall "HP Support Solutions Framework", you must first uninstall "HP Support Assistant".  Both can be uninstalled from the Control Panel.
