Hey dochamada,
I hate to hear that you're having an issue with your webcam. Often it is a short in the cable or the cable is being pinched by the hinge. Although, it is certainly possible that it is a software problem.
The easiest way to test if it is being pinched by the hinge is to move the screen. Open it all the way and close it down about halfway with a video recording program open and see if the camera shuts off due to this movement. If it does shut off, then this is most likely the issue.
If the camera doesn't give a disconnected error when you move the screen up and down, then it could just be a software problem. In this case, you will want to start by checking to make sure your drivers are up-to-date.
Here is a link to a helpful document about troubleshooting a "webcam disconnected" error. You've already tried some of the steps on the document, but start with Option 3 and follow the rest of the steps. If you do a system recovery in option 5 (Caution: will cause file loss), that completes all of the software troubleshooting and it would be safe to say it is a hardware issue at that point. Hardware issues will need to be repaired, see Option 6.
Hope this information was helpful! Please let me know if you have any questions. I'll keep an eye out for your reply.
