It appears that your best bet would have been to urchase and install a compatible 8GB memory module.

Talk to the memory module vendor. If they will accept the return of the one you purchased, perhaps you can do that. One consideration is that the method you used to upgrade has faults.

Even if there is memory already installed you would have had to replace it.

The original and new memory modules, if there had been two slots, probably woudn't have been compatible anyway.

They need to be identical in all respects if you want to be able to plug them in place, boot up and login to Windows. Buying memory modules by using the posted specifications is normally a recipe for unwanted surprises.

Hi App

If crucial scanner informs you of no compatible upgrades & manual - page 3 declares of 1 non-upgradeable/ non-customer accessible SODIMM slot, I think you should give back the 4gb RAM and get your refund back.

I have two same ram memory cards one from old laptop and one new they are same in all , my idea was to remove this 4gb. card that is in laptop and to put other two.

That all compatible or not is not my problem the main problem is that on paper was one thing but in reality there is other thing (2 slots- 1 slot). But i will send now email directly to HP and to shop where i buy laptop beacuose i whant to know who did make mistake. And probably ask guys in shop to give me money back for laptop and i will get other one or to give me new 8gb. card if they did mistake.

And for you guys i d like to say you tnx. for helping me.

That information was for your info for future memory upgrading, not for the notebook you have.

Did you order a notebook with 8GB?

If you did, then you have leverage. If you did not, then you made an error and they might or might not be so helpful.

It all depends on whether or not they appreciate having you as a long term customer.
