running linux on one of these convertible laptop/tablets with the ridiculous model number hat is hard to remember and, as promised, no sound, no bluetooth. i think everyhing else works fine. oh, linux something plasma. i would prefer to be a computer user rather than a computer expert so i don't usually remember unnecessary details. Anyway, i will use this device like this while i have to, but I am kinda pissed at HP for designing a roduct so absolutely dependent on a terrible operating sytem that it can't fully funcion without it.
Point of post (minor rant over): if anyone knows of any linux flavor that would take full advantage of this machine's capabilities, please let me know and I will install it. Thank you.

Without the model number you can't remember, how would we know exactly what hardware you have and be able to intelligently figure out whether some specific Linux distro can run it? All Linux uses essentially the same kernels with some minor tweaks and the devil is in the details so we would have to also know your Linux distro.

Yeah, OK. i am too old to be ale to read the little printing that tells me the computer's model number so I was hoping for a magical one size fits all solution. BUT...it seems that I have a HP x2-Detachable 10-pOxx running KDE Neon 5.8.5 LDS. i distinctly remember Plasma being mentioned as well, but I don't know if that is a part of the linux flavoring or something else entirely. Thanks for gently telling me that I am being too obtuse for you folks to help me.

The all I can tell you is you might be better off with a more mainstream Linux distro. I also like KDE as opposed to Gnome so I personally run Kubuntu which is the KDE variant of Ubuntu. No problem with sound but I do have bluetooth issues on my Spectre which is likely very similar in terms of hardware to your machine. I am sure I could get it working if I put some time into it.
It is a bit of a challenge to get Linux running right on 6th and 7th gen Intel platforms. Don't be angry at HP. No OEM designs its hardware to work with anything other than Windows since that is what people buy and Microsoft is part of the process. Linux has to follow.
