I have a lot of problems with flash drives and card readers which plug into my usb ports being detected, I have just bought a new 16 gb flash drive (HP) as above which says on it plug and play, but when I plug it in I can't find it, there is no prompt and if I go to remove usb it does not show there either, I have about six card readers and they worked when I first used them but now I think there is only one that works. Can you help please?

What an idiot I am, because the new style of usb flash drive is one solid piece it allows you to put it in wrong way round, which is what I did, but your help led me to the solution. Many thanks,

Ian.
