Hi @Elbo

Welcome to the HP Forums!:smileyhappy:

It is a fantastic place to find answers and tips!

For you to have the best experience in the HP forum I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide Learn How to Post and More

I understand that after you upgraded the network driver the option became greyed out.  You tried restoring to an earlier date but no change.

Here is a link to Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet (Windows 😎 to help  resolve your difficulty.

Did you obtain the upgraded driver by using the  HP Support Assistant   or manually download the driver?

Did you get the driver from HP or the manufacturer?

You can go to Device Manager and try deleting the current driver and then restart.  This  will  allow it to install the previous driver.  If you simply roll back the driver from here and it works, the next time you start your notebook it will install the updated one if it has not been removed.

You can install the original wireless driver using the Recovery Manager.

Good Luck!

I seem to have slightly the same problem. I went to Support.HP.Com/US-en/Product HP-15

and Downloaded **What I thought where updated Drivers for (Realtek RTL8723BE/RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN Drivers) This caused my Realtek RTL8723BE/RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n Adapoter to uninstall then reinstall and now the Signal jumps from five bars to four to three. As where before when I was trying to fix the problem it only went down to four and stayed there unless I moved closer to the Router.

How can I perform a System Roll Back/Restore to get rid of the current Driver, and go back to the privious one, before I went to the Support site?

Hello VolkiLover,

I see that you are trying to Roll Back the Driver to one that was previously used. If you are able, access Device Manager and then select the Right-Facing Arrow next to the Network Adapters. Right-Click on the Realtek RTL8723BE/RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n Adapter and select "Properties." A box opens and typically has several different tabs. Locate and select the one labeled "Driver." If the "Roll Back Driver" is present and not greyed out, select the driver version you need.

If, however, the box is greyed out, the next step would be to go to hp.com. Go the Support tab and select Software and Drivers. You can either put in your model or have the "Identify Now" find what your device is. Sometimes there are several units from which to choose. I recommend the generic unit listed. This will have all the drivers for Energy Star, Base Model and Bundle Notebook PC's.

Once selected, it will take you to a page where you can select your Operating System. Make sure you choose the correct OS. If not, you may enter incorrect drivers and could possibly cause other issues. Expand the Driver-Network tab. Locate the drivers for the Realtek RTL8723BE/RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n. If you can, click on the Title of the Driver listed. It will take you to a page with several headers. The header you need is the Revision History tab. In there you should find the correct version you need. Download and run that driver. Be aware that sometimes an updated driver will not let you Roll Back to a previous version.

To restore your computer to a previous date and time, you can use the System Restore. Be aware the Default should be to have System Restore enabled. If not, you will NOT be able to roll back your system to an earlier time. Here is a link I found that describes the process of how to run System Restore. Whenever a System Restore has been run, you can always roll it back to the original settings by selecting the Cancel Restore. I hope this helps!!
