A couple of missing drivers?
Below are the links to the drivers you need:
Install the first one I posted first, and reboot.

Please, I having a similar problem. I installed window 8 on my hp-compaq 6735s 32bit and the wireless button is turning off and on but it appears not to work at all. I can't find any network controller but the ethernet controller ids are
PCI\VEN_11AB&DEV_4357&SUBSYS_30E4103C&REV_10
PCI\VEN_11AB&DEV_4357&SUBSYS_30E4103C
PCI\VEN_11AB&DEV_4357&CC_020000
PCI\VEN_11AB&DEV_4357&CC_0200
Please can you help me?

Hi:
You need this driver for the ethernet controller (PCI\VEN_11AB&DEV_4357)
See if installing the HP Wireless Assistant gets the network controller to show up in the software.
If it does and W8 doesn't install a driver, then this would be the driver for the wireless card.

You bet I can.
Go to your notebooks support and driver page and download and install the Realtek RTL8188CE 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN Driver for the wireless card.
And install the Realtek card reader driver for the PCI device (PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209).
You will find the card reader driver listed under the storage section of the driver page.
