Hi everyone!!
Got this HP (envy 14 1050ca) a couple of months ago. Appart from the difficulties to instal linux due to raid configuratios (i posted about this before, finally I got on top of it) the computer works very good under the new OS and now I can run Win+ linux. The only thing is that so far it doesn't recognize my SD card reader when i am working using my linux partition... and also it does not recognize SD cards when plugged to a USB card reader, what makes me think that it is no an issue on the SD card reader (i.e. missing driver) but some inability to recognize this kind of devices indistinctly of the port their plugged to. Any ideas on how to make this work?
Thanks!!

So it turned out that the problem was an unsuported SD built-in card reader,
for whoever needs it, answer, quick and easy, here
Cheers!

Ubuntu generally does a good job with storage media but I seem to recall there is a setting where you have to make it automount removeable media. You may also have to manually mount the filesystem:

still haven't been able to solve this! apparently the problem has to do with some inability to enumerate the device, so it wont be recognized and will nt mount (even manually)
a dmesg command will give the following output
unable to enumerate device on port X
as far as I know something called enhanced host controller interface (ehci_hcd) has to be dissabled. Itried to do this running
modprobe -r ehci_hcd
so far nothing worked out... any ideas??
