I have windows 7 installed on HP Pavilion dm4-1006tu noteook pc. I have Microsoft Office 2007 installed. Onenote tray icon has suddenly disappeared. So now I cannot use the shortcut: windows+s to start capture screen from onenote. There is no option for onenote in Control panel>>Notification Area Icons.

Please suggest something to get this icon back in tray.

Hello,

First, checked if OneNote is installed and it is working.

Step1: Click on Start, in the search window, type OneNote

Step2: In the search results, look for Microsoft OneNote and click on it.

Step3: Check if OneNote works

Step4: If not working, you may have to reinstall Microsoft Office to get OneNote or you may repair Microsoft Office

Second, if OneNote is working and only the icon in the System Tray is missing, then follow the steps below.

Step1: Click on Start, in the search window, type MSCONFIG

Step2: In the search results, look for MSCONFIG and Click on it and you should get System Configuration window

Step3: In the System Configuration window, click on Startup tab

Step4: Look for Microsoft OneNote and make sure that it is selected.

Step5: Click ok Ok and restart the computer

Once restarted check if the OneNote icon is back in System Tray.
