I have tried to get a replacement part and even after using HPs recommended part resellers, no one supplies this part new.

If anyone gets anywhere please post!

HP should be recalling/reparing these laptops!

When I open my laptop, screen is open but not in full size. how can I solve the problem?

I have been having the same issue. GreekSquad wanted $400 to fix it. We connect an external monitor up to the laptop and use it for now. Every couple weeks the monitor starts working again randomly. I am trying to figure it out. This is a piece of junk laptop and am shocked HP hasnt done anything about all these people. Surely a problem this similar of this scale is a manufacturer defect.

The laptop was working normal for about a year and then poof! The screen went out.

The product number is VM298UA#ABA

No blinking lights on caps lock or number lock. I tried moving the screen up and down countless times and nothing works. I updated the nForce NVIDIA graphics card, nothing.

This certainly is the last HP product of any kind I ever buy.

Hi Mr. Mohammed Mukrams,

Thank you. I am experiencing a similar problem with my machine.

About 12 hours back, I tried switching my laptop on for the first time for the day & it switched on but got stuck on the bios page. Then I tried restarting the machine, during which the power was coming but the screen was blank.

There after I noticed that t the Capslock & Numlock lights were blinking. It was blinking in a sequential manner, that is, thrice then a pause & blinking again. It is still the same.

I tried removing the power adapter, then the battery & holding the power button for more than 40 seconds but the problem still persists.

Please be kind enough to help me on this regard at your earliest.

Thank You,

Ziyard Zarook
