Hi,

I too have SATA III Speed with a M4 64GB on a 6360b with Bios F.20. I tried Bios F.27 but I only got SATA II out of it. So I downgraded back to F.20.

My seq. read is around 490MB/s, not over 500, but a lot better than 265 - 275MB/s with the bioses after F.20.

And it really does make a difference. I don't care, if CPU turbo doesn't work (altough cpu-z tells me otherwise). The notebook is fast enough for me, even if the turbo wouldn't work (but it does).

I'm not happy about HPs decision not to support SATA3 in newer bioses. But either way, F.20 is a good workaround, even better: with newer bioses my notebook sonetimes crashed without any obviously reason. Now it is stable, as it should be.

I reverted to F20 bios but for some reason my speed keeps at sata 2 speed 3Gb/s ??

I Have a Samsung SSD 830 series, HWinfo tool shows a 6Gb/s drive controller (probably checks the chipset?)

but my benchmarks are still the same as with the F27 bios (260MB/s read/ 238MB/s write)

Zorack: can you check the intel rapid storage tool what speed it gives you?

The rapid storage tool tells me 6GB/s.

Maybe it only works with Crucial m4 (I have one in my 6360b)

Possibly I have good news. A few days ago, I found an info about an upcoming BIOS F.28 which should include SATA III Support. Now, for my 6360b it is online. I flashed it and after solving a problem with the boot priority (at first it can't find my boot device, i guess, the update changed the boot priorities) I now have SATA III speed with Bios F.28!! So now I don`t need F.20 any more (though it was, beside real SATA III speeds, a very good Bios)

Because the chipset in 6560b should be the same, watch out for BIOS F.28!
