Hi Guys,

I would very much appreciate if you could help to solve this problem.

I am using Compaq Presario V3000 (2008) model notebook. I am having problem to bootup my notebook.

When i pressed to start the notebook, i got a blackscreen and nothing is showed on the screen. So i used the "F10" option to run the hard disk test. I found that it showed "No IDE device" in the test status page on the diagnositic screen.

I could also see "Hard disk Self test" with <Enter> option. When i entered, no diagnostic test is running. I even changed the boot disk option, but no help.

I have some very important documents, files in the HDD.

In the system configuration, the "SATA Native support" is enabled.   Kindly help to solve this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Riyas

Hi Riyas,

Sounds like your hard drive has crashed. I assume you only see a black screen with just a blinking cursor.

Do you hear any kind of clicking noise.

You could try removing the hard drive and placing it in an external enclosure and try it with another machine. If the machine read your hard drive you can get your documents.

All the best .. Post the results

Regards

I just have a big issue with my HP Pavillion dv2000.  When I start up, it shows only the HP Invent logo and below a couple of commands like ESC, FI, F9, F2, F10, F11 .  When I attempted HD disgnostic, the taest status shows No IDE Device then it gets freezed.  I can't even get out of it with ESC.  The F11 for system recovery doesn't work.  F1 for system information shows messages like System & Video Shadowed .  Then, nothing happens.  When I start, I hear some clinging sound.  Does it mean that nothing can do with this symptoms?  Mean, to throw away or is there any means to repaire it?

I got a Presario F700 whose HDD would not boot. The disk is a sata I 1.5Gb/s WD1200BEVS but Why does It keep giving the NO IDE Found in the Bios and the HDD is perfectly working confirmed on another computer.  I had tested 3 diferent 2.5" hdd on the same machine and none were seen by the bios. I reflashed the existing BIOS with last version F.0A no change. It´s like the bios is expecting a native ide BUT THE BIOS SETUP gives you no way to change it. I have booted into Hiren´s Boot CD version 15.2 but again the hdd is no where to be found and it does spin as it should...

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
