If you haven't had your notebook for a year then it may still be in warranty.  I suggest you contact HP Support immediately and let them know about the issue.  The number is 1-800-474-6836 for users in the US/Canada.  If you're in another part of the world you'll need to visit HP Support Worldwide to get your region's contact information.

This means the product is experiencing a problem with the hard drive.  Since it should be in warranty you should contact HP Support directly and inform them of the issue.  The number is 1-800-474-6836 if you're in the US/Canada.  If you're in another part of the world you'll need to visit HP Support Worldwide to get your region's contact informatiion.

I am having the same problem.  I have run the hard disk and the memory tests mentioned and both passed.  What should I try now?  Thanks for your help.  Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.  I have tried the F11 and I also tried using the restore disks I made when the notebook was new.  It begins to show the Microsoft at the bottom of the page (green progressive bar), then it tells me the disk will not work.

i m using hp- i5 ,model no.2000 .i can start my comp after installing a new windows 7.i had check all test about memroy,hard disk etc.it is nt responding to recovry also.only black screen n white lighting curser i can show. my one month old hp pavilion would not boot up to windows. it says:

Whenever, I press enter. The computer shuts down.
