Hello.I have the same problem as amarquez or the person who posted earlier - I can not start my computer and the message is no bootable device- insert disk and press any key and go to www.hpcom/go/techcenter/startup . That is why I saw this post. You were asking for the serial number, model and make of the HP computer. Can I give the details of mine and it is not anymore under warranty because I have it for more than 3 years already.  It's HP Compaq Presario CQ40  serial number is CND93908Y4 its p/n is VG496PA#UUF other details it says Presario CQ40-517TU.

I hope you can help me restart my computer. Thanks a lot and Happy New Year

hello,

I have windows 7 but when I bought my laptop I had Vista. some days ago I was trying to open my pc and the screen was grey and nothing else...I did the launch repair and it says that windows cannot repair the problem.. after that, I tried to do the system restore but I cannot do it coz I didnt make a restore point before, so, I turned it on safe mode and I saved my files in a hard disk and tried to make the system recovery with the F11. the problem is that I cannot do it..I press the F11 and then screen says windows error recovery and the options are safe mode and start windows autom. in both cases I can do anything to run my pc.... HELP MEEE PLEASE....
