Hello HP customers and personnel;
I have a HP Pavilion G6-1b70us notebook PC with specs:
Intel i3- 370m (2.4Ghz)
8Gig RAM DDR3 -1066Mhz
Win 7 Home Prem.
I want to upgrade my processor to an i5 or i7.
I know the socket type is G1 (rPGA988A), but I want to know which processors are exactly compatible with my PC, or are every listed processor compatible?

Hi,
The best possible CPU you can have is an Intel Core i5-480M pn#634693-001. All processors are listed in the maintenance and service guides. Click on Support and Drivers on the top of this page. Then enter the laptop model. Then Manuals and then look for Maintenance and Service Guide for G6 laptops..

Hi:
Of course you can upgrade to i7. The chipset HM55 supports the follow Arrandale CPUs (1st generation):

I upgrade my hp pavilion g6 series from i3-380m to i7-620m, but first, you must upgrade BIOS to lastest version (f.37 in your case).
Kind regards
