Hi,

According to a maintenance guide for HP G42/CQ42 series laptops you can upgrade it to 8GB (2x4GB) of RAM..

PC3-8500 and PC3-10600 memory modules are supported..

Asus ROG STRIX G16 Manjaro Xfce
HP Touchpad provided by HP
HP Microserver Gen8 10TB Debian Server
