I have an HP 4720s laptop.

I'm using a Logitech K400r keyboard and a Logitech Performance MX mouse, both connected via a single USB unifying receiver.

I have my laptop connected to a monitor and keep the lid closed even when I'm using it. I'd like to be able to wake up the laptop from sleep using the keyboard (it has a power button), but I just can't get it to work.

Can anyone help?

Operating system?

These may help you, though it is described for keyboard, mouse, try those for usb:

Manage power options when lid is closed:

Thankis for the reply.

OS is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

In device manager, under all USB root hub properties, the option to "allow this device to wake the computer" is greyed out. That seems to be the biggest problem I'm facing.

As far as power options go, all options are set to do nothing when the lid is closed.

OK so usb function is not there.

did you try reinstalling usb drivers from your product site?

Ah ok...I found the problem. USB wake was not enabled in the BIOS. I was certain that it was but when you mentioned "usb function is not there" I  thought I had better double check. Problem solved, thanks for you help.
