Hi I made a recovery disk of my laptop just before it got destroyed I am trying to put it on my desktop computer I cant get the files to open up though I would like to save it on the desktop setting so I could retrive things from the files I dont want to install it I just want to retrive things like all my pdf books can someone help me Thankyou

If you made a Recovery Disk using HP Recovery Manager it did not make a copy of your files. It only makes a copy of the files in Recovery partition which are used to reinstall Windows and original software/drivers when you boot from it.
If you made another type of disk please clarify how you made it.
