Hello,
I don't have the serial number of my lapttop but it's the
HP Pavilion G6 Notebook PC
Intel Core i3 m370 2.40 Ghz
4 GB Ram ( Stock ) I've expanded to the max now ( 8gb )
300 gb HDD
64 Bit Operating system
I know that with this model I can change the processer but the specifics have been very confusing I want to upgrade to a i7 but I can't find the specific i7 that matches the mother board or socket set. Was wondering if I could get some help to find the most updated processor in the i7 I can put in my laptop.
( I have to have a i7 no i5 or i3, I'm trying to run Adobe SpeedGrade and I'm poor so 400 to 500 hundered for a new computer is out of the question this processor along is hurting me cost wise.)

The CPUs that are circled are the only ones published as compatible with the systemboard in your notebook. I have also identified your system and CPU type. It appears that there is an Intel Core i5 previous generation CPU that is a suitable upgrade. No Intel Core i7 CPUs are compatible with you systemboard in the current or previous generation of the Intel Core CPU lineup. the i5-480M CPU will be a definite bump in performance. the downside is that it is still only a dual core CPU. Help us to help you by posting the following information.
1. The full Model No. and Product No. of the notebook - see This HP web document if you don't how to locate the model number and\or product number.
2. The complete version and name of the operating system you are using ( ie Windows 7 64bit ).
5. Post the installed CPU and chipset . You can find that out by downloading and using CPU-z, a free PC enthusiast utility.
6. Is your notebook a UMA (onboard Intel HD graphics 3000 only) model or does it have ATI Radeon HD switchable graphics?
Answering all of the questions is important. It will enable me to determine what the capabilities of the systemboard in your notebook are.
Have you made an error in stating that the installed CPU is an Intel Core i3 m370 instead of an Intel Core i3-2370M (2.4 GHz, 1333 MHz/3 MB L3 cache, dual core 35 W) ?
Run CPU-z, it will tell you what is installed on its CPU screen.

One last thing You say NO i7 is compatible but the i7 at the top is circled so is that one not compatible or is that not much of a upgrade from what I have now. And Thank you so much you really helped me out
