HP Pavilion g6-1200TU
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I used my laptop late night with no problem and then shut it down properly using power option . About 8 hours later, I tried to turn it on by pushing the power button and nothing happened. It was plugged into the wall and the little light next to where you plug in the power adapter was on. It would turn off when I unplugged it. The laptop wouldn't turn on whether it was plugged into the adapter or not. The laptop is about 3.5 years old. This is the first problem that we have had with it. Would a bad battery cause this? Could it be the power supply? Also my battery is in dead condition.

I'va also followed these steps:

1) Remove the battery

2) Push the power button at least 30 seconds

3) Plug in the adapter

4) Try to start by pressing power button

All these steps are failed, no results.

THANKS

Hi @Byamakesh ,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community!

I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion g6-1200tx Notebook and it having startup issues. Try performing a hard reset. Many links that might help.

When performing a hard reset please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices.

Plug the power adapter directly into a different wall outlet. Do not plug it into a power strip, surge protector, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.

Here is a link to computer won't start for Windows.

Please let me know how this goes.

Thanks.

Now I've different issue meaning i can start my pc via F5 not power button.

When i press F5 , it showing some BIOS error message then enter to start normally.  But still my power button is not working even after start via F5. So what is wrong with it?

Hi @Byamakesh,

With BIOS errors, I recommend to restore the BIOS defaults. You could restore the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings.

Thanks.
