i'd noticed that in my device manager, there are 2 display adapters are currently installed, Intel(R) HD Graphics Family and

Radeon (TM) HD 6470M. I want to know why there are two? will those two work together?Would my ATI radeon graphic card work?  i have a HP pavilion g4 1116x laptop, windows 7 professional x64

thnx in advance :generic:

The short answer is that your notebok probably has switchable graphics. Take a look in the BIOS and the ATI Catalyst Control Center to see if you can control it from there.

Post your notebook's complete product name so I can take a look at the specifications and software available for your notebook.

Thank you sir for your reply. uhm, the product name of my notebook is "HP Pavilion g4 Notebook PC."

How can I choose which display adapter i want to use. When i open HP support Assistant, the one that'shighlighted in the "grapic devices adapter" is the Intel HD graphics. But i want to use the radeon graphic card. how would i do that?

thank you again sir!

That is your model series name, not your product name or number.

Remove the battery and look for the p/n. Post the entire p/n (all characters)

in the systray, near the clock there is an icon in Windows 7 of my HP loaner dv7-4180ea notebook. It is of the ATI Radeon Catalyst Control Center. When you open the Catalyst Control Center and select Display options you should see both graphics display adapters.  An alternate method to find out if switchable graphics is install and details on how to use the technology is in this HP document.

can i ask another question?

how can i change switchable graphics, from dynamic mode to fixed mode? because my ccc is currently in dynamic mode.

That can usually be done in the BIOS. (for recent model notebooks)
