OMEN by HP Laptop PC - 15-ax033dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've been trying to update my windows 10 from 1809 to 1903. I've tried updating it over 20 times and still i get the fail to install update error code 0x80240034. I've tried to update all my system drivers (Bios  as well) as I now have a new hard drive installed and this was a fresh install of windows 10 from USB drive. Could someone please guide me to a solution to update my windows to 1903?

I don't understand -- why would you use v1803 on a USB stick for a clean install when you can get v1903 on USB stick by downloading the file from MS for free from this link:  Windows 10 download

Seems to me that installing v1903 directly would be the best way to go.

So about that, I created the USB bootable drive a while back and wasn't aware of the windows 10 update.  what also happened is that my original hard drive which came with my system wouldn't boot and had a error on it. i bought a new hard drive and had to reinstall windows on it. i used said USB drive to install windows on it.

OK ... understand ... but I would still make a new USB installer with v1903 on it and install directly from that.

Thats the thing yes i would do the update for the usb drive. but why do the update from usb when i could use the windows update assistant? In any case this was why i came here to ask for help because each time i try to update my windows (either manually or through the assistant) it keeps failing to install the update and its really frustrating. Is there a driver i'm missing or a step I'm over looking? Help please.
