I just purchased a HP x360 laptop, model : 11-k059TU, part number : N4F24PA#ABG
I swapped the HDD for a SSD and proceeded to do a clean install of Win 8.1. I did it using Secure Boot and the inbuilt firmware Win8 key. I downloaded the official drivers for this model from HP :
http://support.hp.com/au-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-11-k000-x360-Convertible-PC/7771374/mode...
The problem is that several of the official HP Drivers did NOT install at all, and MS Updates doesnt have drivers for them. Specifically, the following HP drivers failed to install :
Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver - v10.0.30.1054 Rev.A - error message was : "This Platform Is Not Supported"
Intel Serial IO Driver - v1.1.226.0 Rev.A - error message was : "This Platform Is Not Supported"
Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver - v10.18.14.4139 Rev. B - error message was : "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software"
The official HP drivers that installed ok were the Chipset INF, Audio, LAN, Touchapad, Card Reader, HP Wireless Button, Intel Visual Button, Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework
(HP didn't have a Wireless Intel 3160 driver, but MS Updates found it and installed it
I actually installed Windows TWICE, thinking that maybe something went wrong with the Windows installation, but the exact same drivers failed.
Does know if there are updated drivers available anywhere ?
I double checked that I do have the corret model and SKU (11-K102TU) and the drivers are for Windows 8.1 x64.
Any suggestions anyone ???

Hi:
I found a business notebook which can come configured with the same hardware as your model (the HP 250 G4).
See if this graphics driver works. It has a different file number than the one on your notebook's support page.
The see if these other drivers you need work...
IMEI:
Serial IO driver: Please post the hardware ID for the specific device because when I search the business support site driver listing there are way too many versions.
With the hardware ID, I can explore the driver folders and find the one with the matching ID supported by the driver.

Sorry, those drivers didnt work ??? I would have thought they would seeing as it looks like the same h/w.
This is the list of devices in device manager that are missing drivers :

Sorry those drivers didn't work.
This is going to be much harder than I thought...
See if the graphics driver directly from Intel works. Says it is for the latest 6th gen core processors and 'select' Pentium and Celeron processors.
Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_22DC: I see the hardware ID in one of the several setup.inf files.
Device ACPI\INT33D6:
http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=ob_147872_1
Device PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5229: Download and install the first driver on the list.
Device ACPI\HPQ6007:
Device ACPI\808622C1\1, etc: The driver file shows W8.1 drivers, so they must be good for both OS'.

Just before I read your response, I too downloaded the VGA driver direct from Intel, and it worked. But I used this link. The N3700 uses HD Graphics and not Iris.
But as for the rest, no luck with the ones you suggested. Very strange that 2 of the missing drivers you found in the hardware list were the card reader and the Intel Virtual Buttons - both of those drivers appeares to install ok with my original install, so I dont know why they are listed as being missing in device manager.
If HP dont have updated drivers soon, I can put the original hard drive back in and revert to that untill HP fix this. I wanted a clean intall on a SSD because the HP install is full of bloatware. I guess this is a risk when you buy a new product that's only been out for a short while.
I might even try Win10 (but I'd rather not).

Hi:
Did you try manually installing the drivers by browsing to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file?
As I wrote, I explored each of the driver files I posted, and every one of them contain support for the hardware ID's you posted for the various devices.
So I know they are the right drivers. Why they aren't working, that I do not know.

Yeah tried all that, thanks. I've given up and decided to go Win10.
I've just done a fresh install of Win8.1 on the SSD. I've just installed the drivers that work so I can re-activate it, and then I will do a Win10 upgrade, after which I will try to do a Win10 clean install. Hopefully the Win10 drivers work better.
Can you answer this question :
I'm using my MSDN/Technet Windows 8.1 media (ISO burnt to DVD). When I installed it with Secure Boot on, it didnt ask for a key. So I assume it used a firmware key within BIOS to install. That's fine. But when I upgrade to Win10, I want to then do a clean install of Win10 - will the firmware Win8 key work ? Or will it activate online like normal Win10 (using the digital signature). And if that is the case, when I do a clean Win10 install, do I need to turn off Secure Boot ??
Thanks so much for your help !

You're very welcome.
I didn't think you could boot from a DVD with secure boot enabled.
Unfortunately, I don't know how you can do a clean installation of W10.
I say that because the free Windows 10 we are getting is just an upgrade from a qualifying operating system (W7 or W8.1).
I have read other forum posts where folks have tried a clean install and W10 asks for a product key.
So, I would say it can't be done. You will always have to install a qualifying OS first and then upgrade to W10 and hopefully MS will know the PC once had W10 on it before and activation will be successful.
Right now, it is no big deal because W10 is free until late July of next year. So any install from an upgrade will activate successfully.
The interesting thing to see will be what happens when the free period is over.
So the only way I would imagine you can do a clean install, would be to install a qualifying operating system, upgrade to W10 and select the 'Keep Nothing' option.
Then after the upgrade is complete, delete the Windows.old folder by using the disk cleanup utility>cleanup system files.

Yeah, it booted no problems with a Windows 8.1 DVD (in UEFI mode).
I have all of the MSDN/Technet images of Windows and after I failed trying with the "Pro" version, I realised the Firmware key would be for the regular version of Windows - so you must use the "plain" Windows 8.1 x64 (and NOT the "Pro" or "Enterprise" or "N" versions) - they wont work.
Windows 8.1 was actually one of the easiest and quickest I've ever done. The fact that it recognises that there is a firmware key and does it automatically was really impresive. I was a bit concerned Win8 would not be able to re-activate when I connected to the web (since the original factory install had already been acticated) - but Windows re-activated no problems.
After activating, I did Windows updates to install what ever drivers MS had (WiFi, Thermal and Virtual Buttons) and then I took an Acronis image of the disk (Acronis imaged all 3 partitions Windows creates). I havent installed any of the HP drivers yet, but now that I have a reliable Acronis image of the "base" install, I can now experiment with driver combinations and if it gets all messed up, I will just re-image back to the "base" version. When HP release the updates drivers, I'll re-image back to the base version and install them (assuming HP release new drivers ???)
Then in the coming days/weeks, I will do the Windows 10 upgrade and experiment with doing clean installs. If it doesnt work, I can always re-image it back to the Win8 image I just created.
