Hi Gunjan139,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I would like to take a moment and thank you for using the forum, it is a great place to find answers.
For you to have the best experience in the HP forum, I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I understand that when you try to use the Webcam you get the error message "you do not have compatible vga hardware driver run youcam".
I suggest you uninstall and reinstall the drivers for your graphic card, as you have switchable graphics, there are 2 drivers to install.
Here is a link to the HP Pavilion dv6-6193ca Entertainment Notebook PC Drivers. You will need to select the operating system and follow the prompts to display the correct drivers.
Download the driver and install
Open Device Manager and right click on graphic devices and uninstall
Now scan for hardware changes, this should install the new drivers.
Restart your computer.
Now try your Webcam.
Here are two document on switchable graphics for your review. Overview of Switchable Graphics or Dual GPUs and Switchable Graphics on Notebooks Configured with Intel and ATI GPUs

Good Morning @mattandrea,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
It is a terrific place to find answers.
For you to have the best experience in the HP forum I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide Learn How to Post and More
I grasp that you have a DV7. HP produces many models of DV7 and I would need to know the exact model you have to be able to look at your specifications.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
What Operating System are you running.
You can run the HP Support Assistant to look for any HP updates.
You can also try the Windows troubleshooter.
If the HP support assistant should find a bios update, I would like you to be aware that it does have a potential to cause damage. Due to this I would suggest contacting HP support for assistance with it.
Please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside of the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region. Phone Assist Worldwide
If you would like further assistance, please provide your exact model and your OS.
Thank you for utilizing the HP forums and have a wonderful day!

Hi Sparkles, thanks for your reply.
I have a HP Pavilion dv7-6b51ea Notebook PC. The product number is QG732EA#ABU, the serial number is (Personal information removed) and my operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium. I don't know if it makes any difference but I live in the UK.
If you could point me in the right direction as to how to fix my problem, I would be most grateful.
Many thanks
Matt

Hi @mattandrea,
Thank you for your reply and the requested information.
Here is a link to HP Pavilion dv7-6b51ea Entertainment Notebook PC Drivers .
Have you done all your Windows updates?
You can also run the HP Support Assistant to aid with HP updates and help resolve issues.
Have you tried Using Automated Troubleshooting (Windows 7) to help overcome this issue?
Here is a link to Connecting a Monitor, Projector or TV (Windows 7) that may also guide you to a resolution.
I hope this helps.

HI Sparkles
Thanks for your continuing help.
Its an inbuilt webcam so I didn't try the "connecting a monitor" link and tried everything else but nothing worked. I typed my product number in the HP search engine and downloaded every driver that might of helped but again no luck. I don't mind paying for software from Cyberlink Youcam but not if it won't work.
Any ideas ?
Thank you
Matt

Hi
Thank you for your reply.
Please follow the document to connecting the WebCam. This is for the internal Webcam and software not connecting or recognizing the WebCam.
You should not need to purchase additional software as it was included with your notebook.
Open the driver and software link in my previous post. Under Software Multimedia you should see the latest recommended version of the software.
Have you done all your Windows updates?
If you open Device Manger it there any marks or errors on the WebCam?
Here is a link to Webcam Troubleshooting (Windows 7) to aid in overcoming this issue.
Good Luck!

HI Sparkles
I think I have solved my problem. I followed all your links thank you but I didn't find a solution but one or two pointers to my problem. Eventually I went to control panel, then system and security. Then review your system status, the find and fic problems told me I had an issue with two drivers and then repaired them. And now youcam is working again. Thankyou again for your help and advice it was much appreciated.
Matt
