Hi Community,

does anyone know (and would tell 🙂 how the pin out of the r4c4 (some call it RJ9 or RJ10) connectors is, which are used on the cable for the external microphones for a Polycom SoundStation 2 Ex.

An answer in this form would be very appreciated:

pin 1 <-> pin ?

pin 2 <-> pin ?

pin 3 <-> pin ?

pin 4 <-> pin ?

thanks much

best regards

chris

Hi Folks,

in the meantime I think i figured out (unbelievable that no one had the possibillity to have a look on such a cable ...)

PIN 1 <-> PIN 4

PIN 2 <-> PIN 3

PIN 3 <-> PIN 2

PIN 4 <-> PIN 1

a classical cross over cable.

The reason why such a cable did not work in my constellation is that I use (at least that's what I think) mics for a "SoundStation" on a "SoundStation2" and I never ever thought that there is a difference on the mics.

I made it run with excellent voice quality, but without support of the mute button on the mics (I don't care, because mute at the SoundStation 2 itself works) with such a self made cable:

PIN 1 <-> PIN 4

PIN 2 <-> PIN 2

PIN 3  not connected on both ends !!!! (a connection here would result in bad voice quality)

PIN 4 <-> PIN 1

best regards

chris

Hi Chris_F

Can you advise what each cable does? I am trying to makeup a custom cable to connect to a Wireless Mic preamp 6.3mm jack and need to know what each pin does.

Hope you can help.

THank you for what you have already posted though. Very helpful.

Cheers
