The HP website that i used for opening repair cases has been updated and with it a new field has appeared which i cannot edit and is not letting me open my tickets. Even though i shows as non mandatory, when i try to finish the case and open the ticket it says that the field has not been filled.

It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with the updated HP website. Even though the new field is marked as non-mandatory, the system still prevents you from submitting your repair ticket, likely due to a bug or misconfiguration in the form validation.

Here’s what you can try:

  1. Clear browser cache and cookies – Sometimes old data conflicts with updated web forms.

  2. Try a different browser – Use Chrome, Firefox, or Edge to see if the issue persists.

  3. Inspect the field – If possible, try entering a placeholder or dummy value even if it’s not required.

  4. Contact HP Support directly – Explain the issue and include screenshots if possible. They might be unaware of the bug.

If this is time-sensitive and you rely on your devices for work, it might be worth looking into local repair services too. A quick moving company search for local tech repair providers can sometimes reveal businesses that offer mobile IT support or certified HP repair options nearby.
