E876 series
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I looked all over the EWS for anything like this feature.  Maybe there is an app that can be installed?  Here is the question:  Can an incoming fax on the E876 or E825 be sorted by caller ID?

Example: If 222-222-2222 sends a fax, can it be forwarded to ABC@email.com and a call from 333.333.3333 be sent to another email?

It's a odd question so don't blame the messenger.  I never heard of it.  Just thought I would try you all...

THANKS!

Gary

Caller ID is not part of the fax protocols so the fax board does not use this information. Fax protocols don't start until after the phone call has been completed. Caller ID information comes while the call is being initiated

Hi Gary,

You are not the first one to ask about that feature, but unfortunately HP products won't work that way. It will forward all incoming faxes to a single email address or network folder. We cannot set it up to filter certain incoming fax numbers to one email and another incoming fax number to a separate email.

Please let us know if you have further questions.

That's kind of what I figured.  Just thought I would toss it in the air and see if anyone heard of an app or other creative method of working this out.  My suggestion was they use a fax-to-email service such as Ring.  The company is a large pharma processor and only gets faxes for a half dozen departments.  Fax over IP lines are not expensive..

You are correct that you require some type of fax routing software to do this.

Hi,

there was an app that i had used on the past it was working great, it was called EzFax2Email.

It was like an agent that you could send to be install on the printer and via EWS (where an option was appearing) you could set the original number of Faxes of the senders and the destination emails for each one. But i Don't know if the Company EPSOFT still exists "www.myepsoft.com"!!!!

Thanks to all!  I took a screen shot of G_Papadopoulis had and will send it to our sales manager working on this.  It's a good account if we can find a solution. They do not use HP now.  Also, they do not have a solution.  Everything is manual.  This is just something they asked for during the sales pitch.

Hey G_P, is this an app that is installed directly on the EWS?  They are still in business in Singapore.
