Hi all,
Happy New Year.
We have a HP E87660DN using Job Storage. Once print is pressed, the message on the screen displays “preparing job to print “this takes too for the users. The prints take about 30 seconds before being processed this is causing massive issues as the users constantly presses the print button and multiple copies are being printed. Also, if the printer is in an error state, new jobs sent will not be stored. Is there any way to override this?
The following test were done to try and find out where the problem lies: Check the driver and prepared a second queue with a different driver. Problem was not resolved.
Tested printing speed between server, local devices and mobile devices, the job reaches the device instantly.
Tried to copy via Job Storage, same result as printing, job takes a while to be retrieved
DNS is fine, printer is new. Firmware is current
I think it’s an HDD or a RAM fault but not sure
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Thanks,
Kim

Hello,
I have seen this behaviour with PDF files when using HP UPD PCL6 driver. File goes through the print queue in 5 seconds but device is processing file about 40-90 seconds . After that print job is visible at MFP's screen.
If you print Word document using similar settings, file goes through the print queue in 5 seconds and MFP is processing file about 10 seconds. After that print job is visible to user at MFP's front panel.
Same speed happens when using HP UPD PS driver.
