HP Recommended

Pre-boot Firmware update method for the PageWide Pro 377, 477, 577, or 552 models.

(The pre-boot method cannot be used on the PageWide Pro 352 or 452 models)

Before starting this procedure, you need to have the appropriate .ful2 file for the printer to be loaded on a USB thumb drive.

FTP Site With Firmware: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/PWProFW/

1. With the printer unplugged from power source, press and hold the power button while re-plugging the power cord, continuing to press the power button. After about 15 seconds the Home and Back buttons will light up.

2. Release the power button. Touch Home, Back, Home, Home in that order.

3. When the blue screen appears on the control panel, wait 5 seconds and then touch the Menu button in the lower right corner of the screen. Do NOT select the Reflash option on this screen.

4. After touching the Menu button, a DRIVE REFLASH screen appears. Place the USB thumb drive with the ful2 file on it into the rear USB port on the printer and touch OK. A green screen displays, indicating that the printer is beginning the firmware upgrade.
