Hi @Latrussell,

I'd like to help!

I understand you would like to use regular ink cartridges on the printer.

To assist better -

  1. Is your printer enrolled in instant ink?
  2. Are you out of instant ink replacement ink cartridges?

 Keep me posted.

Could you share the exact error and an image of the cartridges you using?

Note; Cartridge number must be pointed towards the camera.

Keep me posted

  • Please, don’t ask me a question and then when I answer ask another that you could have asked the first time.
  • hp 62. The cartridges are placed correctly.
  • the message is rhe one that these posts always mention: I must be enrolled in hp Instant Ink to be able to use my store bought hp brand cartridge. Just tell me if it’s possible and how, but don’t waste these resources because you are incompetent. In other words, you are not helping so far, Thank you.

Hi @Latrussell,

Getting an accurate understanding of your problem is crucial to provide you a solution, a matter of wording is important, one key difference may describe a completely different problem, the next questions asked are following your reply to better understand the actual problem you currently experience.

Can you see both ink cartridges marked following or above the error message? a circle indicates black and 3 dots indicate the tri-color cartridge

"I must be enrolled in hp Instant Ink to be able to use my store bought hp brand cartridge" - no such error exist and therefore the following question, the error may indicate you must be enrolled to use Instant Ink cartridges, therefore a clear understanding of the actual error is a key to identify the exact problem and get it resolved.

Please include a picture of the EXACT error message shown on the printer screen, if there is any scroll of the screen be sure to include the entire error message.

Also, include a picture of both ink cartridges label to better understand the problem, it could be just a cartridge failure of a specific ink cartridge, clear information will help to better understand what is going on and to help you getting the problem resolved faster..
