My HP OfficeJet 8025e seems to print bold text for the entirety of every page, regardless of the fact that none of the material being printed is intended to be in bold. I suspect it is using too much ink because after 5 days of use I got the low ink notification on the printer indicating that the cartridge would need to be replaced soon. This question was asked on this board about a different printer in 2015, but no helpful answer was provided. Can anyone advise a way to print with less ink or without everything looking bold? Thank you!

If you believe the printer is not printing correctly, run the Diagnostics to check the Print Quality.

What else?
Different fonts are constructed differently.
From a distance and at "normal" reading size, one font might appear similar to another.
Fonts are actually not the same - some are constructed of delicate outlines, other fonts are heavier and solid.
If you have control over the original document format, use a less heavy font.
Change the fonts to (for example) HP Simplified Lite, Calibri, or Calibri Light
Not sure? Open the Font category (for example, in Word) and peruse the font list - select a "light" looking font.
Remember, The printer likely only recognizes Tru-Type fonts. Odd fonts won't print or will require that you either embed the font and / or Export the document to PDF and possibly even print as an image.
If you have the printer driver software installed,
Set the Print Quality to Draft or Economy mode.
