I keep getting a message saying there is a carriage jam, then it tells me to remove the jam, but there is not one. I have reset the printer multiple times and have tried to contact HP support which has proved to be a huge waste of time. My printer is out of warranty and so I imagine that may have something to do with the lack of support that I have received. Again there is nothing there, no obstructions, the only thing I have been able to do with HP support is get a case number but I have not heard back from HP at all. So any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated.

I understand you are not able to use the printer due to this false error. Make sure you have tried the steps mentioned in these documents - Carriage jam or E3 error or Paper Jam Error

 

If the error persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware failure. 

If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.
