Automatic Document Feeder does not detect documents loaded for scanning
NO error messages, misfeeds jams, etc. When I load documents the device panel does NOT say "Document Loaded". If I press the scan button on my computer anyway the device scans the glass. The rollers do not activate and the feeder does not engage.
I have tried everything, even the HP diagnostic tools. There is nothing returned about the ADF.
What can I do? I'm in Southe East England.

Hi @ShanghaiTimes ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you've already taken some troubleshooting steps. Since you're still facing issues with the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) on your HP LaserJet Pro 100 Color MFP M175nw, here are some additional steps you can try
Check for Physical Obstructions:
- Make sure there are no paper jams or foreign objects blocking the ADF path. Inspect the rollers and clean them if necessary.
- Ensure that the document is loaded correctly into the ADF tray.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord, and wait for a few minutes.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
Update Firmware:
- Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can check the HP website for firmware updates specific to your printer model.
Reinstall the Printer Software:
- Uninstall the existing printer software from your computer.
- Download and install the latest drivers and software from the official HP website.
Check HP Scan Software Settings:
- Open the HP Scan software on your computer.
- Look for any settings related to the ADF and make sure they are configured correctly.
Run Windows Troubleshooter:
- Open the Windows Settings.
- Go to "Update & Security" > "Troubleshoot."
- Run the Printer troubleshooter to identify and fix any issues automatically.
Check ADF Sensors:
- There might be sensors in the ADF that detect the presence of documents. Ensure these sensors are not blocked or damaged.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
