HP Officejet pro 8600 plus printer - I am getting the following message when trying to use the ADF "A scanner automatic document feeder (ADF) misfeed occurred. Reload the pages to scan into the ADF and try again" I have cleaned all of the rollers, unplugged and restarted the printer - no improvement. Suggestions?

Hi @CJ-Sanderson,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you’re still encountering the "ADF misfeed" error message after cleaning the rollers and restarting the printer, here are a few more steps to try.
- Check for Obstructions: Ensure there are no small pieces of paper or other debris inside the ADF or paper path.
- Inspect the ADF Rollers: Sometimes, even after cleaning, rollers can become worn out or damaged. Check the condition of the rollers; if they appear worn or damaged, you may need to replace them.
- Verify Paper Type and Condition: Make sure you're using paper that meets the printer’s specifications (e.g., no curled edges or damaged sheets). Try a different stack of paper to rule out paper issues.
- Ensure Proper Paper Loading: Make sure the paper is properly aligned in the ADF and that the guides are snug against the paper without being too tight.
- Check for Firmware Updates: Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve hardware issues. Check the HP website for any available updates for your printer model.
- Perform a Factory Reset: As a last resort, consider performing a factory reset on the printer. This will reset all settings to their defaults and might resolve any software-related issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hello Alden,
Thanks so much for your response. I followed all of your suggestions - up to the factory reset - but when I tried to update the firmware, I couldn't get it to install, so I installed the HP Support Assistant, and it did some updates (firmware perhaps?) and now the ADF seems to be working fine. One more question for you - where would I find new rollers for this printer, if I need to replace them in the future? This printer is quite old, but I Love it and don't really want to replace it unless it is absolutely necessary. Thanks again for your help with this.
