HP LaserJet Pro MFP M426fdn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Unusual problem here.

The ADF on our Laserjet M426fdn printer is pushing the paper out incorrectly.

Some of the pages are being output UNDERNEATH other pages, so when scanning in pages 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 it outputs 1 first, then page 2 goes underneath 1 (Instead of above), then page 3 goes underneath 1 but above 2, etc. Sometimes the page edges catch on one another and pages coming out are knocked to the floor.

We're not scanning/copying duplex, we're using the printer to copy and fax single-sided pages.

We also have a Laserjet Pro MFP M428fdn with the exact same issue. It is located in a different building in a different town, but has the exact same error (Outputting files in the wrong order and occasionally catching the edge and dumping papers off).

I know that on the side of the ADF output tray is a plastic stop we can lift up to prevent the pages from being dumped on the floor, but instead when an edge catches like that it lifts the paper up and flips it.

We have never had this problem with previous machines, as we have roughly 40-50 of the older Laserjet M425 units still working without issue. It only seems to affect the 426/428s.

Hi CBingTC,

I recently ran into this issue also. Have you had any luck? I've cleaned it, used roller restorer on push out rollers and tried replacing the pick up rollers and separation pad and now updated the firmware. None of which fixed my issue and the update has seemed to actually make it worse now.

Thanks
