HP CP5225dn stopped automatically duplex printing. I see several support posts here about troubleshooting that problem in Windows but none for troubleshooting for Mac OS (13.2 to be specific). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @bkumming

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Color LaserJet CP5225dn has stopped auto-duplexing on macOS (13.2), here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Printer Settings:

  • Open System Preferences and select Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your HP CP5225dn from the list of printers.
  • Click on Options & Supplies.
  • Go to the Driver tab and ensure that the duplex option is enabled.

Check Print Dialog Settings:

  • When you go to print a document, make sure that in the print dialog, you select the duplex option. Look for a checkbox labeled "Print on both sides" or similar.
  • Ensure that you're using the correct print settings, as sometimes custom presets can change options.

Reset the Printing System:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click (or hold the Control key and click) in the printer list area and select Reset printing system. This will remove all printers and reset the system.
  • After resetting, re-add your printer and check if duplexing works.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support website to download the latest drivers for your printer model compatible with macOS.
  • Install any updates, then check if the duplexing feature is available.

Check Paper Settings:

  • Ensure that you are using compatible paper types and sizes, as some settings can disable duplexing based on paper choice.

Print from Different Applications:

  • Sometimes, the application you’re printing from may not support duplex printing correctly. Try printing from a different app (e.g., Preview or a different document editor) to see if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
