Try these steps:
Check Compatibility:
- Ensure that the paper tray cover is indeed meant for the HP Smart Tank 7005 model.
- Verify that you are aligning the correct covers and parts as per the printer’s user manual.
Align the Paper Tray:
- Remove any paper from the tray to make it easier to handle.
- Align the paper tray with the printer by ensuring it is correctly seated.
Attach the Paper Tray Cover:
- Check the edges and tabs on the cover for any damage or incorrect placements.
- Position the cover at the rear end of the tray and gently push it to clip in place.
Verify Installation:
- Once attached, check if the paper tray and cover fit snugly without gaps.
- If the tray cover does not fit properly, double-check the orientation and attachment points.
