I have a warning on the printer screen that says "The original is jammed in the document feeder.  Open the cover, remove and reload the original and then try again.  However, there is no paper in the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder).  I've cleaned all the rollers, unplugged the machine, waited 60 seconds, and plugged the cord back in and it goes through all the self checks and I hear this clicking noise in the ADF, then the message pops up again.  How can I fix this issue?

Does this happen as the last page is feeding? If so, the paper presence sensor that detects when you load paper might be getting lazy. I have seen this on other models and it appears to occur because the spring that is supposed to return the flag to regular position has lost spring tension. This flag is usually located on the bottom of the adf paper path next to the separation pad.

No, this has only happened recently.  I have not been scanning anything but the error message just popped up one day and I can't get it to go away.
