Getting error when attempting to use the document.

@Momules, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

To assist you better, what is the error message you get while using the document feeder?

Is it not picking the papers?

 

For now, perform the steps mentioned in this document - Automatic document feeder does not pick paper or feeds too many sheets

The error on the display is:  "The document feeder was not able to pick up the original,  Make sure the document feeder cover is closed completely and the original in the document feeder, and try again."

 

I have cleaned all the rollers with water, as instructed, and checked to make sure that the cover is closed completely.  One other tidbit of information is that I had used the ADF just minutes before to copy some tax forms and it worked just find.  I did not turn the printer off or restart the computer afterwards.  The next time I used it (10-15 minutes later) the ADF didn't work and I got the message stated above.  I get this message every time I try to use the ADF.

 

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If you have tried the steps mentioned in the above-attached document and the issue persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware issue. Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options for your printer. 

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.
