Hi @Onepiece111,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I understand that you are receiving a“Door Open” error on your HP printer. I’ll be glad to help.

Before we proceed, please provide the exact printer model or product number so that we can make sure you receive the correct help for your specific printer.

In the meantime, please try the following three steps in the order listed, as recommended by HP. The HP document confirms that a “Door Open” message can prevent the printer from printing.

1. Close the cartridge door completely

  • Open the cartridge door.
  • Check the door and the surrounding area for anything preventing it from closing. HP recommends checking for bits of paper, packing materials, or tape.
  • Remove any obstruction you find.
  • Close the cartridge door firmly and make sure it rests securely against the printer.
  • Check whether the Door Open message is still displayed.

2. Reset the printer

  • Turn off the printer using the power button. If it does not turn off, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Connect the power cord directly to a wall outlet and reconnect it to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on and check whether the error has cleared.

3. Service the printer if the error continues

If the Door Open message remains after completing the above steps, HP recommends having the printer serviced or replaced, as applicable. Repair fees might apply if the printer is outside warranty.

Take care and have an amazing day!
