@Maxx44, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e displays the error "Cartridge cannot move. Clear jam," but there's no visible paper jam, the issue is often related to:

  • An obstruction in the carriage path
  • A buildup of ink or debris on the carriage rail
  • A mechanical sensor malfunction
  • Incorrect cartridge installation

Step-by-Step Fix:

Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug it from the power source and wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on. This resets internal sensors.

Manually Check the Cartridge Path

  • Open the printer cover to access the cartridge area.
  • Gently move the printhead/carriage left and right. If it’s stuck, don’t force it.
  • Check for:
Tiny scraps of paper, even as small as a staple
Loose gears, cables, or bits of packing material (if newly set up)

Clean the Carriage Rail

  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Wipe the metal rod on which the cartridge carriage slides.
  • Dry it gently.
  • This resolves issues from dry or dirty carriage rails that cause friction or blockages.

Check Ink Cartridge Seating

  • Remove all cartridges and reinstall them firmly.
  • Make sure there’s a solid click and that all cartridges are recognized.

Inspect for Internal Damage

Shine a flashlight inside to check for:

Broken plastic tabs

Bent or misaligned parts

Update Firmware (If You Can Access Menu)

  • If the printer boots to its menu:
  • Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
